Microneedling
Charlotte, NC
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves creating micro injuries in the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause the body to produce more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and create smoother, tighter, and more rejuvenated skin. Needles from 0.5 to 2.5 millimeters thick create tiny holes at minimal depth, which safely triggers a response from the skin to start the healing process. The healing process is quick and leads to a variety of benefits for the skin long term.
Benefits of Microneedling
- Improvement of acne scarring
- Fine line and wrinkle reduction
- Pore size minimization
- Reduction of stretch marks
- Burn or surgical scar minimization
Process of Microneedling:
During each appointment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area in preparation of the procedure. A series of three treatments once a month for three months is recommended for best results. After each treatment, our medical aesthetician will guide you on proper home care and expectations for your healing process.
There are different forms of microneedling that we offer.
Microneedling
This version of microneedling uses the FDA approved SkinPen only with a topical gel that helps to glide the skin pen across the skin.
Microneedling with PRF
PRF is placed superficially into the micro-injuries that microneedling creates to boost the body’s ability in healing and rejuvenating itself. The result is a refreshed, firmer, and smoother skin that looks youthful and vibrant.
WHAT IS PRF?
PRF is a fibrin matrix composed of platelet cytokines, growth factors, and cells used to help promote skin rejuvenation, hair growth, and wound healing. The process of PRF begins with a vial of blood taken from the client. The vial is then placed into a centrifuge device that spins and separates the white blood cells and platelets. The PRF (platelet rich fibrin matrix) is then collected from the vial and placed as a mask onto the skin and microneedled in. The mask is then left on the skin to dry for 8 hours for long lasting results.
